Pack Meetings are normally held twice per month during the school year and all of our scouts (K-5th grade) get together in the same place. The meeting is generally held at the Parish Center in Holy Rosary Catholic School and led by the Cubmaster.
You are welcome to stop by if you are considering joining the pack but please contact us first so we know you are coming. Safety is our top priority!
We gear the meeting towards the kids and the goal is to have fun and recognize them for their recent accomplishments (with awards, badges, and whatever else we dream up).
Don't let the cost scare you off. It's not that expensive and our Pack is able to assist if you need help. The person to see about assistance is the Committee Chair. This will be kept between you and them but you can tend to that later.
There are two parts to the annual dues which are currently about $250 per year:
The national dues which are initially paid when you register online via BeAScout.org.
National dues help support operations of the BSA and provide liability insurance for pack operations.
The pack dues which cover the costs of various program activities such as:
materials for meeting activites,
belt loops, pins, and badges awarded to scouts as the complete advancement
Cars and trophies for the Pinewood Derby.
The annual dues do not include the cost of excursions which are paid for on a pay as you go basis.
We conduct fundraising efforts annually to help offset the costs of Scouting and encourage all members to particpate. Fundraising goes a long way towards keeping our costs down and also serves as a valuable learning experience for the Scouts.
A new uniform with all of the required insignia is available at the local scout shop. While the cost of the uniform is not included in the program fees; the uniform can generally be worn for several years as your scout moves through the ranks.
If you need assistance, we can work with you. In reality, Scouting is actually quite reasonable considering all that your child will be doing throughout the year. Don't let the cost get in the way of your decision.
